This wonderful couple actually traveled in from out of state to celebrate their wedding in Minnesota. From our first video calls together while planning their wedding photography timeline, I already knew they were going to be an absolute joy to work with. Their fun personalities and excitement for their wedding day made the entire experience even more special.

As a Minnesota wedding photographer, I’ve been incredibly blessed to photograph many weddings at the Arboretum over the years. One of the reasons couples love this venue is because it offers so many different ceremony and reception spaces throughout the property, each with its own unique atmosphere.

For this wedding, the couple chose the breathtaking Oak and Nut Collection for their ceremony—and if you’ve ever seen the Arboretum in the fall, you can imagine just how magical it was. Golden October sunlight filtered through the trees while rows of simple white chairs were set among the oaks. Surrounded by family, friends, and the beauty of God’s creation, the couple said their vows on a perfect sunny fall afternoon in Chanhassen.

After the ceremony, we slipped away for some private wedding portraits around the Arboretum grounds, which is always one of my favorite parts of the day. The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum offers endless backdrops for wedding photos—from tree-lined paths to colorful fall foliage—making it a dream location for couples who want romantic outdoor wedding portraits.

Once portraits were finished, everyone gathered back inside the beautifully decorated Snyder Building for the reception. The couple chose decor that perfectly complemented the space and truly lit up the room. Thoughtful details, warm lighting, and joyful energy filled the reception space as guests settled in for dinner.

After a delicious meal, the celebration continued on the dance floor—and this couple absolutely brought the party. Their friends and family joined them for a night full of laughter, music, and dancing. And yes… they definitely had some impressive moves!
